12 Cannery Road, otherwise known as the 'Ronan House' is a two-bedroom lakeside house located in Delos Crossing. Alyson and Tyler grew up here with their mother.
The home's interior and exterior can be explored during Chapter 1: Homecoming - Homecoming. The twins arrive at the house with the intention of completing any repair work and then selling the property to help them move on with a fresh start.
Exterior[]
The Ronan house is a two-bedroom residential house surrounded by forest and overlooking a slight incline leading down to a lake. The walls are composed of wooden slats with chipped red paint, with a galvanized steel roof. There’s a small porch at the front of the house, sheltering the main door, a window, and two large trash cans. The back of the house, overlooking the lake, also has a porch. The house has been neglected for ten years, with an emphasis on DIY throughout the time the twins and their mother lived in the house; it was always in a state of disrepair.
There is a small bird house nailed to a tree in the front yard. The twins recall that Mary-Ann used to spoil the birds, and that she liked animals more than people. Tyler can collect bird seed from the shed to use on the house during "A Big Wooden House".
A sandbox with an old boat surrounding it can be found near the bird house. The twins used to play there as children after receiving it as a Christmas present from Mary-Ann. They reminisce about how they never knew how she managed to get it out into the garden without them noticing beforehand.
There is an oil tank to the left side of the house. The twins comment that she would have liked solar panels instead but that she didn't have the money to purchase them.
An old tree the twins used to climb features on this side of the house too. Tyler fell and was concussed, while Alyson had to walk into town to get Tessa to bring him to a hospital.
There is a beaver dam close to the house by the lake, which is currently not inhabited by any wildlife. Alyson marks this as a negative, as photos of the wildlife might have attracted buyers to the house.
There is a small homemade bench on the incline behind the barn which was built by Mary-Ann. Tyler recalls falling asleep on it when she was done, and becoming stiff afterwards. Alyson doesn't have this memory, struggling to remember them ever standing still for long.
An old, broken boat rests buried on the ice by the lakeside. Aly and Tyler remark at how Eddy taught them how to fish, and that the boat probably isn't any good for it anymore.
Out on the lake there is a fishing shack next to a small dock which is currently unexplorable in the game. This is the location of Mary-Ann's death. The shack is surrounded by fishing supplies and general clutter, and was likely used for storage by the family.
The Crawl Space[]
Underneath the house is the crawl space heavily explored by the twins as children. Part of the space was known as their 'treasure room' where they would hide away their 'stolen goods'. There are several signs with drawings of fantasy creatures including a dragon, the Crafty Goblins and the Mad Hunter.
This area is home to the Mad Hunter collectible statue, a moose toy which belonged to Tyler and the tea set the twins played with.
There is a hatch which leads straight into the laundry room in the house's interior.
The Barn[]
There is a shed next to the right of the house which is currently not explorable, other than the small tool shed leading off the main barn. It is implied that Mary-Ann kept a firearm in the shed.
In Chapter 1: Homecoming, Tyler and Alyson retrieve a screwdriver from the shed, and it is the location of their first shared Bond experience as they remember cleaning the room as kids for a punishment.
Interior[]
Living Area[]
The main living area of the house includes an open-plan kitchen, dining area and living space by an open fireplace. The area is covered with mementos from the twins' childhood, as Mary-Ann kept every drawing they ever did, and liked to photograph them often.
Bathroom[]
Tyler immediately comments that the room still smells like their mother. Alyson is quick to say she will make sure that will change. Mary-Ann's old jewellery is still beside the mirror, and homemade soap still sits on the sink. An old dress in the hamper reminds Tyler of when he tried to bury it in the yard; apparently "pretty" wasn't his thing.
Laundry Room[]
This room contains the hatch the twins use to get into the house initially. The washing machine was in need of repair as noted by the twins and Mary-Ann's notes for the repair work still left on top of it. The drier is also broken, and had been long before Mary-Ann's death.
There is a wooden sled in front of the machines which Tyler seems to be fond of as he touches it when he enters the house.
Twins’ Bedroom[]
The twins’ childhood bedroom has wooden slat walls. The room is decorated with photographs, posters, and star-shaped fairy lights.
There is a bunk bed that appears to have been repainted multiple times (pink, then purple, then maroon, and currently blue). As kids, Alyson had the bottom bunk while Tyler had the top bunk. They remark that the beds are so small now that they are adults.
The room also has a number of the twins’ toys in it, including Alyson’s stuffed monkey, an odd dragon toy made with sticks, and a homemade board game.
Mary-Ann's Bedroom[]
This room has a puzzle-lock devised by Mary-Ann which she built herself to stop the twins from entering the "Princess' Sanctum". Valuing her privacy, she created the lock with a password riddle which can be solved using the Book of Goblins.
Solving the riddle, the door lock is hooked up to a power source for a pink light which spins inside when the door opens.
Inside the room, Mary-Ann's hobby of painting is displayed with an illustrative painting of the twins at play near the window. Mary-Ann's belongings are still in the same place they were when she died.
