The Old Bear brings the Princess to the party and they have a wonderful time, until a group of fairies decide to play a prank on the Princess. The fairies make all the Princess’s friends disappear, and present her with three gifts. If she can correctly identify which of her friends gave each of the gifts, the fairies will return the Princess’s friends. Inside of one gift is a sword that jumps to protect whoever wields it. Another is a torch that lights the way for its user. The final gift is a purse of coins that is never empty. The Old Bear runs out of the cave and resolves himself time finding a new one. Meanwhile, the Crafty Goblins happily settle into the Ice Cave. After a little while, the Old Bear notices the Crafty Goblins using the ice cave as his home. The Pelican knew that the goblins we’re always hungry, so she told the Moose that yes, they were allowed to take that food. The Goblins were still hungry, though, so they stole a salmon Old Bear had just caught. Again, Moose asked whether or not the Goblins had permission to take the food; and again, the Old Bear said yes. Finally, the Goblins stole some food the Muskrat had collected. The Moose knew for a fact that the Muskrat disliked the Goblins and wouldn’t let them take his food. The Moose teaches the Goblins how to fish, and they finally eat their fill.

Theories[]
- Main article: Theories and Speculations
- Some speculate that the Mad Hunter is a former abusive partner of Mary Ann's, considering its role in the Book of Goblins as a figure chasing after the runaway princess. Interpreting the end of "The Goblins Trick the Mad Hunter" as the father's survival of a drowning, the missing posters in the police station are speculated to include his identity.[1]
- Some also speculate that the Mad Hunter is Alexander Gershwin, the man on the boat at the beginning of the game, in combination with the theory that he is the twins' father, possibly supported by his strange reaction to learning that Tyler is a Ronan.[1]
- Others speculate that the Mad Hunter is a recurring hallucination of Mary Ann's or a representation of her during a psychosis episode, created as a character to take away blame from her from her childrens' perspective. As Tyler sees visions of the Mad Hunter both in the past and present, he may also be having the same hallucinations.[1]
